We Are Pleased To Introduce Our New Minister and His Family

Pastor Philip Kittelson is the son of Philip and Sara Kittelson, and grandson of Odell and Margaret Kittelson. Third generation missionary to Bolivia. He has served with his wife Johanny and his two daughters Mariana and Raphaella in the Bolivian Amazon basin, doing medical missions, taking the Word of God and much needed medical aid to people living in very remote communities along the shores of the rivers in Bolivia. He and his family have a heart for serving God and for serving people in a tangible way, thus seeking to manifest the Kingdom of God here on earth. He also has a heart for apologetics or defending the faith through love and reason. Pastor Philip knows what it means to be blind but then to see the light of God. That is to, by God’s grace, be enlightened by the love of God the Father as manifested through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, and the Holy Spirit, the comforter sent to be with us through our journey here on earth. Pastor Philip prays and hopes that you too can see the light of life in Jesus Christ, so that we may all live abundant lives here on earth and partake of eternal life hereafter. And if you already believe Jesus’ Lordship, he prays that you may grow in your love for God and your fellow humans, so that you may be edified in your Christian character by imitating Christ, that is our sanctification.

If you are seeking meaning in life or if you are on your quest for truth, feel free to reach out to him, as he will gladly talk with you.

Jesus prayed for us in this way:

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” John 17:20-21

Fun and Fellowship at the Craft Fair

Our church participated in Leland’s Christmas in the Village craft show this past Sunday.

We offered an assortment of items including: notebooks, Christmas ornaments, an ornament and sticker activity kit, glow in the dark bracelets and small boxes of candy all at no cost to the craft show patrons. We also had a drawing for a beautiful Christmas candle.

A big thank you to Pam Whitcraft for all of her hard work in heading up this project. Thank you to Jackie and Bob Jones, Jean Ohme, Linda McVicker, and Greg and Margret Abbott for helping in many and various ways.

It was a fun time of fellowship and hopefully we brought a smile to those who stopped by.

Happy Retirement Pastor and Carolyn

Today we wished Pastor and Carolyn a Happy Retirement.

They came to us 14 1/2 years ago when we were transitioning from a 2 point parish to a single one. God as always knew just what we needed when He sent them to us.

Thank you Pastor and Carolyn for your years of service and we look forward to hearing about your new adventures.

Love your St. Petrie Family

August Devotion ~ Blessed Assurance

The song, “Blessed  Assurance,” is in every hymn book:

                   “Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine!

Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God.

Born of His spirit, washed in His blood.”

These words were written by the famous blind song writer, Fanny Crosby.  As an infant, incompetent medical treatment rendered her sightless for life.  She is the author of over 2,000 beloved hymns as the one above and others such as “Jesus, Keep Me Near the  Cross,” “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” and “To God Be the Glory.”

A few years ago, a friend of ours sang this song in her hospital room when she was very ill.  It was quite a witness as the nurse ran in to attend to her needs.  So, do you have that blessed assurance in God’s Son, Jesus?  Does your family know the forgiving love of Christ?

Let’s offer a prayer:

Jesus said in John 14:6:  “I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Father, come close to us.  As you died on the cross for our sins, give us the faith to know you personally.  Forgive us for doubting your love.  Give us the power from the Holy Spirit to live and share you free gift with others.

In Jesus Name    AMEN
